Biografía

Born in Mellionec, a small village in Brittany (<1000 inhabitants), Joë lle Le Douaron grew up in a family directly marked by the Second World War and the German Occupation. Although she was born after the war, her parents and siblings lived through it, making her an actor of the intergenerational transmission of wartime memory in rural France. She is now retired and continues to live in Brittany.

This interview explores the intergenerational transmission of wartime memory in rural Brittany. Joë lle Le Douaron was born in 1947 in Mellionec, so she did not live through the war herself.
