Resumen de la entrevista
Life-story interview with Ruth Torres de Castillo, a 74-year-old woman from Bogotá, about her memories of everyday life, violence, displacement and politics in Colombia from the 1950s to the present. The interview explores how a lower-middle-class urban resident perceived the rural armed conflict, how personal experiences (her father's military campaigns, the killing of Sangre Negra, narco-terrorism in the 1990s, and contacts with ex-guerrilla employees and displaced neighbors) slowly broke an "urban bubble", and how she understands the 2016 peace process, the Truth Commission, and current politics. The interview is used to analyze selective memory, the limits of media narratives, and the persistence of structural injustice and polarization in post-conflict Colombia.
